MELINDA PATRICE BURKE

Born and raised in Nova Scotia as the daughter of two designers, I began my education at NSCAD University studying fine art and sculpture. Although I grew up with the notion of becoming a "doctor-ballerina-princess", I soon found that my passion for food became my creative medium. A friend and devoted mentor took note, and encouraged me to persue a career where I could work with my hands, and bring my artistry to an audience who shared my love of food. This was when I discovered what a Pastry Chef was, that I wanted to be one, and that I'd never been more sure of anything in my life!
